Simien Mountains National

Simien Mountains National Park is in northern Ethiopia. Its rugged terrain includes escarpments, deep valleys and a high plateau, home to rare Walia ibex and Gelada baboons. Tall peaks include the towering Ras Dashen mountain. Trails wind through the park to camps at Sankaber, Geech and Chenek. The central Gidir Got and Imet Gogo summit lookouts have panoramic views of sheer cliffs and the lowlands below.

Omo National Park

The Omo National Park – one of the Ethiopia’s largest and richest nature sanctuary and yet one of the least visited areas in East and Central Africa. Located on the west bank of the Omo River, the park covers approximately 4,068 square kilometers, about 870 kilometers southwest of Addis Ababa. The Mago National Park, is located on the eastern bank of the Omo river. Although an airstrip was recently built near the park headquarters on the Mui River, this park is not easily reachable

Both parks can offer incredible spectacles of big game. Both have the merit, also, of being far from the beaten track and virtually unexplored, and thus are places in which game can be seen in a truly natural state.

Mago National Park

The Mursi Tribe in Mago National Park lives on the eastern shore of the Omo River that runs drains the Rift Valley in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region of Ethiopia, at a distance of about 800 km southwest from Addis Ababa. The nearest town, Jinka, is at mere 34km from over an all weather gravel road which descends from the mountains to the lowlands of the park, showing breathtaking views of the landscape of the park. About 200km of graded roads traverse the park and the main rivers running through the park are the Mago River and Neri River which are tributaries to the Omo River. The main landscape of the park consists of gallery forests bordering the rives, the plains vary from open grasslands to woody savannahs and shrubs. The park also has several hot springs

Nechisar National Park

Nechisar National Park is in southwest Ethiopia. Its varied terrain spans escarpments, swamps and forest. Zebras and gazelles roam the vast savannahs of the Nechisar Plains. The large, brown-red Lake Abaya sits on the north side of the mountainous “Bridge of God” isthmus. To the south is Lake Chamo, known for its big Nile crocodiles. The park is home to many birds, including the rare Nechisar nightjar.
